First day working for a new company today, on any other day this would have been brilliant, but not on this day. Up early at 05:30 for a 25 mile morning commute, everything going well, stomach fuelled and car loaded with required tools. I must add that the car is currently borrowed from the girlfriends father as mine is in the garage having a suspect head gasket looked at :confused5:. Anyway as said, all going well up till now. I set off and no more than 2 miles into the journey I lose engine power and the engine warning light starts flashing at me :mad2:. Turn engine off, restart, hoping that it will clear itself, set off again...no such luck! limp mode again :veryangry2:! So on my first day for a new company I return home, annoyed at the trivial things in life. Call my very understanding new boss and wait for the garage open to see a mechanic that I seem to want to make a millionaire with all my recent luck with cars!

Fortunately my car will be ready tomorrow afternoon so I am only losing two days work, my mechanic loved me turning up with a second car and then promptly begins to tell me of his upcoming holiday in Cuba...I think i'm funding it :greedy:. Oh well...tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a better one!

Very, fortunately the job I was about to start on, they are only just starting on and there is no push yet as they are just finding their feet on the site. So now I have two free days to sort my accounts out and do some much needed tidying up of my paperwork.

My van has started doing something very odd, when i start it and then switch something on like the lights, indicators, hazards, heater blower or anything really, the bloody engine cuts out! It was a difficult day driving it, i'm just glad i was local, gotta have a look at it tomorrow

is it diesel or petrol? and what van is it?

bad connection. when you switch something on, it's dragging the supply to the pump/ems/ down.

Yeah thats what i think it is, i had a quick check earlier around the battery and fuse boxes but couldn't see anything obvious, gonna have a proper look tomorrow, must be something simple!

I wish I had been ragging it, Renault Megane, only 1.6. Full electric pack so bad to take it to an auto electrician to take a full look at. Can't wait to get my car back now, Vauxhall Vectra. At least I can start Wednesday now.

Just watched top gear from last night, jc likened the vauxhall vectra to a pair of taxmans trousers:biggrin:
