Just had a job through. Shower installed 3 weeks ago company done a runner. Shower cuts out after 2 minutes no water through at all - At any point faulty unit?

Don't know whether to go plumbers job?

Check the water pressure aswell, if theres not enough water going in quick enough it will trip.
May sound silly but if you do go to the job, check the ISO valve for the water feeding the shower, they may have damaged it or not turned it back on properly.... Just a thought...

All the above sound sensible, have had faulty pcb's before which mean the shower runs and then cuts out midflow, if you then switch isolator off and then back on it re-sets until it does it again. PCB is an easy part to change but you want to be sure it is that, cost upwards of ÂŁ60 I think.

Could quite easily overheat if water pressure is too low, the element chamber needs a certain flow rate through it or it gets too hot, as soon as the chamber is too hot it'll trip. Most showers restrict the flow to increase the heat so it might very well work fine on cold or low heat settings.

If they've got the manual there is usually a reasonable fault-finding chart in that. Manufacturers' help lines are pretty good as well, but be wary if they suggets buying new parts as different problems cna have similar symptoms and the help lines can get it (expensively) wrong.

First thing to check is whether water is even present at the shower. From what you have said.. "Shower cuts out after 2 minutes no water through at all"... it sounds like there isn't. Maybe a service valve turned off somewhere? If there is water at the shower then check whether the inlet solenoid coil is ok first of all. It's very hard to fault-find by proxy without seeing the unit in question.
