how wrong can somethings be,
gone to help out a friend of a friend, he's had his next door neighbour test the place. 10way 16th DB, TNS,
  • he's done it on a 16th PIR form.
  • Put it down as TNCS.
  • Failed it due to 16th board.
  • Failed due to 10mm on 20 mcb feeding 45a switch and socket(cooker outlet not used anymore so just there for socket). (ok i know not good practice but dangerous???)
  • Failed due to no conductor ID, How ever no switches have been removed(all painted over and no damage)........
heres were its gets good. charged ÂŁ100.00 for Inspection, guess how much he wants for remedials??? ÂŁ800.00.

Oh wait it gets better. he was in, had a brew and out within the hour!!!!

as per the normal customer gets stitched up, traders look like **** because there is no government backed single scheme to stop this from happening. FED UP!!!!

so what are my choices, go next door an beat him around the chops with the BGB, speak to His scheme provider, speak to my scheme provided, or just forget it cause no one is going to do anything any way?

A very moody

The authorities had their chance to regulate test + inspection, where benefits for all could have been gained, instead they came with the silly installation part p electrical caper
What point is there gained in confronting him?
Its rampant practice throughout the industry, especially with the biggies and

we have no clout

May be your friend should invite the "sparky" back to discuss the "remedial work" and have you their to ask a few questions - could be entertaining!!

I charge more for EICR's on the basis that I'm not touting for extra business.

you dont have to have a blazing row, just take your friend around with you, and ask for your friends money back, whilst telling him that he should stick to cutting unistrut

That wouldn't cause the start of a right royal Ding Dong then?? haha!!
Things must have changed beyond all my recognition in such matters, if that's the case!! lol!!!!
