Each to their own, some prefer ratchet
I like the pliers type for the reasons in my first post
Plus they're more compact which is important as we fly to site periodically, also the size range is larger
I do have a ratchet ferrule crimper it stays in the van mostly, nothing wrong with it at all just it's bigger, heavier and has a smaller size range !
