Discuss Fire alarm switch???? in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

You have entered the post going off on tangent, the question was on taking esential supplys straight off bus bars.

Therfore are you agreed that essential supplys are no longer taken straight off the buss bar via a bs88 fuse, and are now taken to a db where all supplys are protected.

I've agreed nothing of the sort!!!

Again you are talking about an area you know little about!! Both the non-essential and the essential supplies can be on the same buss bars separated by a buss coupler. So essentially your last paragraph is totally wrong, as initially ALL supplies are derived from the main buss bars, be they feeding direct, (which is still perfectly acceptable) or feeding via a distribution panel!!

I've been talking specifically about the supply of fire pumps!!! What your also not understanding, is that fire pumps be they motor or engine driven, have little to no protection incorporated. They are to all respects, presumed to be able to ''run to destruction''!! So the last thing you would do is start adding protection measures!! They MUST continue to supply water to dry risers for fireman's use, come what may for as long as feasibly possible!!

First of all stop the abuse and the high all mighty, and debate your opions.
now what you are saying that you would connect a fire alarm supply direct to the bus bar via a bs88 fuse, and not to an essential db board
