Hi, i have already installed 4 smoke alarms interconnected with a triple and earth, the first alarm has a twin & earth back to the board, i wish to add 2 further alarms and the only reasonable point to connect them in is at the first alarm which has the power in from the board, my question is can i add a junction box into the triple and earth and run a leg out to the additional alarms ( creating a spider type layout) or do i need to re route the power to one of the new alarms and connect them in series with each other ?
thanks in advance

as far as i'm aware, all you need to do is provide your 2 new detectors with a L.N and sig. can;t see a problem with spurring a 3 core/E from 1st detector, but make a note at the CU explaining this.

Had an issue last year when customer asked for addition of CO detectors towards end of first fix. Aico technical support say its fine to spur off a detectors. Wouldn't fancy trying to get 4 1.5MM's into each terminal mind!

great thanks, i will add a jb in the link and come off that as it appears to be as tight as.... well very tight - thanks for your help

You will need to check compatibility . I just assumed you have Aico rc range. It's with going on about Aico tonight lol.

You may still be able to change your first base for a radio base to control the other two, but this won't work out cheap as you will need two radio bases depending on type. Not sure if you can wire inter link from last slave , you may need three.

Well that switch is made for them then, makes your commissioning easier too. Testing complies to MI by using test switch. Get the handbook -mint.
