First cable calc that is non-theoretical!

Just a quick question, the customer is asking if I can go ahead with the install despite his summerhouse not being constructed yet.

I decided to go with the suggestions from the forum and run it as a sub main, and run back down the garden for an outdoor socket.

The customer wants the outdoor socket asap so....

Although I agree a little dodgy, but would a consumer unit in an IP66 box (where the summerhouse will be) suffice as a temporary measure?? I've had a good look in the BRB and can't really find a reg that specifies whether acceptable or not.

Thanks

I wonder about the summer house builders building around your temporary submain and not damaging it . Would putting in the garden socket as the temporary measure not be the safer idea. The swa does not have to be buried and it could be run to a post with an IP rated rcd protected (if not already at the main CU) socket. When you do the main install you could then do that in a more permanent fashion.
