Has anyone been contacted by a company called First Electrical, based in London, wanting help with contract work outside of their area?
The woman who phoned said it wouldn't cost me any money. I asked for them to email me details but a man called Harry phoned whilst I was out at the shop. He spoke to my wife who also told him to email details. She said he didn't seem keen on emailing details.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, but I think I might be smelling a scam.

Thanks.
Steve.

I get a call like this every 2 weeks and I tend to stop them in their tracks and say no thanks so when they say but you have not heard what I have to say I say look you are going to tell me that you can get me work and the catch is you want a fee for sending me and 20 other sparks to the same job or you want to get work via a slick saleman then pay me peanuts while you rake in the profits because you are not doing this for nothing plus the customers are getting more savvy so as they say there is no such thing as a free lunch.

If I get a call like this I want the comany name and address. If they are ltd then they can be checked out. If they are delaying over the address cut the call. Ask which scheme provider they are with. Do they have a website. Its not hard to check out any respectable trader these days.

OK Harry is now in Cornwall and wants to meet up.
The comapny is 1st Electrical. The web search gives their address as 25 Beners Way, Broxbourne, Herts EN10 6NR.
The landline number they originally phoned me on matches the one given on the website and I used it to search google in the first place.

Please does anybody know anything about them before I meet up with Harry.

Hi Darren. Thanks for the reply.
Yes the work is wiring up Solar Panels and yes the link you give is the same company.
When did you do the work? Did you meet an installer called Stuart?

http://www.1st electricalcontractors . c o m ??

I'm pretty sure we are on about the same people... STAY away!!! I done some work for them in Cornwall, Essex & Suffolk spent money on fuel accommodation etc. and I have not received a penny.

Darren

If I'm not mistaken was it you that did some work via another sole trader, If so maybe you should ask them where your money is, we have never recieved an invoice from you. This massage I'm seeing is slanderous and an insult, out of the number of jobs that where installed more then half where unfinished, poor, and if I'm not mistaken namely 1 of yours failed by 90%, but back to the point, you where a subby to another contractor and not me, these jobs where all failed by MCS contractors signing the works off, I believe you need to talk to them and ask where your money has gone before wrongly putting a creditable company down. (THEY HAVE BEEN PAID)sorry to all for the confusion.

Harry
