Welcome to the forums, with regards to your questions, research 'safe zones' for wiring and then decide the best route yourself, good luck!

Hi markc123.Thank you for your welcome. This is my first time on a forum of any kind so please be gentle with me.My question.I am installing 10mm cable to replace 6mm for a new shower.Should the cable from the isolator to the shower run horizontal through the studs or down to floor level, along and back up.Thanking you in anticipation.

is the isolator wall mounted? if so, you can run horizontally to the shower, as each will provide a safe zone horizontally and vertically from each.

Hi telectrix.Yes the isolator is wall mounted. The reason i asked the question is the new shower will be further away from the isolator but still at the same height.Thank you.Can you tell me how much of the connecting i am allowed to do before i call in an electrician.

Welcome to the forum Graham.

I'd advise you to get professional help with a shower cable install. Bathroom areas are considered as very high risk zones electrically speaking because any shock received in this area is far more likely to be fatal than in other rooms. If you want to do some of the donkey work to keep the cost down then rather consult with a sparky first about the best installation technique then install cabling as per his recommendations.
