I recently purchased a LAP PIR sensor

I presently have 4 wires where the old pull cord was (picture attached). Could someone please explain where the neutral wires are? The wiring is about 30 years old.[ElectriciansForums.net] fitting a PIR sensor (4 wires)

There doesn't appear to be any.
You can't just connect it with those Wagos unenclosed in the ceiling space.

1st thought is that it's either used the cpc,s as neutral or is wired L-E. best get a spark to look at it (or an undertaker. sparks are cheaper).

The wiring looks like single & earth, often used e.g. in the 1960's, instead of twin & earth. Since there was no need for N at the switch, it didn't need to be taken there. Likely there will be single sheathed N cables at the light fittings. (This wiring looks to be more than 30 years old to me.)

As westward mentions, the connections need to be enclosed - I'm guessing the connections were in the now-removed pull cord switch. Either they need to go back into whatever switch is fitted there, or be enclosed e.g. in a Wagobox.

If you need a N for a PIR, you'll need to run a new cable that includes it, e.g. from the light fitting.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I have placed the cables into a Wagobox and I will call an electrician.
