Flickering Light Bulb

Hi

Just had a friend call me and has said that the light in one of their rooms is flickering like a disco.

They have changed bulb but still the same.

Was wondering what first steps to take in helping diagnosing this problem?

Sounds like a loose connection...

start with the switch as that's near the ground, and if that doesn't help you'll have to get up a ladder to the light fitting!

Check all terminations in the light fitting and the switch are secure. Any leaks in the house? Any rodents? Any DIY work done in the house anywhere? If it's upstairs, get up in the loft and do a visual inspection of as much of the circuits as possible. If no luck with the inspection, get testing.
