Has any one had problems with continuity readings on their fluke I keep getting 0.00 ohms on all ring tests and it's only been calibrated 3 months ago

Not on mine.
I got mine 2nd hand too. Only thing that has gone wrong is the test lead with the test button on its probe.

Get it calibrated, try different test leads or see if the calibration company can fix it.

Could be somwthing wrong with the leads or the null facility on the tester, get a drum of earth cable and do an end to end test on the drum,i have a calcard which i use to keep my tester upto date every 2 weeks,if you do this it is acceptable to get the mft done every 3 years as long as you think the tester has no problems then it should work fine and is within tolerances, most people just have them done yearly without argument but the nic/elecsa like you to also keep a fortnightly log.

I don't think your leads are zeroed properly. When you zero the leads do it a couple of times to make sure that the connection is good. On mine I find if I hold the leads one way or another it can make a .02 or so Ohms difference

Even an impropernuller of the leads won't give a 0 ohms reading of aring, unless its a super small ring final that is lol
yes of course David...which makes me wonder wether fused prods n crocs are being employed here....and the fuse in one-or more of em has blown........or it could be the interface with the tester thats at fault....or as has been suggested already..just a case of dead batterys...

hello i am currently having the same problem with a replacement 1652 for my stolen 1653, any update or information on this subject would be much appreciated as i have my elecsa inspection on the 23rd May

Well done resurrecting this thread Danny..............just shows the professionals get confused with dead short ( zero) and open cct ( > 500) lol.

D.Marney..............change your batteries then come back if it didn't work mate and we'll go from there.
