Hello

Looking to buy a new MFT, anyone had any problems with the unique feature on the 1664 with the IR test? It says it won't test if sensitive equipment is detected but no where seems to list how or what tolerances this is. Can it be disabled?

I've seen a few being sold on auction sites and wondered if too much interference from the tester becomes a bit of a pain after a while.

Thanks all

Si

Hi,had a quick look at the spec, but it just describes the machine sensing a "load" between phases, and suspending test.

Exactly what the parameters are,of that pre-test,is not described.

I cannot see how this would differ from an initial "soft" test, which would also give a value, and an indication of what may be occurring.

It could be just an additional feature, that we neither want or need, but is easily added in the software,to post in the sales blurb as an "extra".

Milwaukee have done this recently, with an "AP" on your I Phone,to set speed/torque etc,on their new cordless drill, although at a recent tool fair, the rep embarrassingly failed to justify any benefits, whatsoever ;)

Certainly a strange one. I guess I wasn't sure if you get no poor reading as it assumes if it hasn't reported clear in x seconds then there must be a load attached and therefore cease test i.e there's an inbuilt algorithm.

For something that's new and patented it not well documented as far as I could see in the fairly limited time I have these days for research.
