guys wats d best way to find which part of the unit dont work. the unit has 4 ballast, 4 tubes, 1 capascitor, 2 tubes not working,i replaced , 2 lamps, 2 starters,2 ballasts. i know i can just buy new unit but that aint good 4 d earth. helllllllpppppppppp. a wiring diagram wud b great. tanx

you defo got power to the unit??? :D:D:D

i hate strip lights!!! if the ballast and tubes don't fix get new light much easier than faffing about!!! used to be my method in last job...! ballast what ÂŁ20 each x 2 + Lamps + Starters = New Fitting!!!

for a wiring diagram look at the ballast normally printed on there , also make sure you got the correct starter , in the older fittings its very often the end caps that fail ,i change ballasts when i can but when its an old fitting na just replace the fitting

Are any of the lamps working ? because what you have is in efect 4 seperate fittings.

If none are working then DurhamSparky is probably right or you have a loose connection on the supply side.

2 working and as i said i repleced 2 x ballast, 2 x tubes, 2 x starters. still no go.i just wanted to know what a good spark would do b4 binning it. i know the easy way is dump and buy, after all its not our money going in d bin. is there any real pride left in this job. we are supposed to be able to fault find

Can I take it that the 2 starters, tubes & ballasts you changed are the ones that don't work ?

If so, is there an internal fuse for each side of the fitting? if not it will just be an internal wiring problem. You've already changed every component it could be.

This may sound silly but some fittings are wired with 2 lamps in series so if one lamp doesn't work both lamps won't work.

Have you tried a known working lamps in the terminals that aren't working?
