fluorescent lights

Am I right in thinking that when fitting fluorescent lights instead of using a ceiling rose to make the connections as it would be exposed do you use a 4-way junction box instead?
Ment to ask in my course but forgot.

Most fittings have an extra terminal fitted for the loop live so there should be no need for a JB

yes fit it directly in place of the rose (replace).
