Well just got a job out off the 1,000 flyers I posted last week! Glad it wasn't a complete waste of effort!

well I did hit some chosen areas with flyer the secret is you need to target the plus the design so at first I did a A5 size big mistake too big and a bad design then I did a A6 or postcard size and a better design popped them off and got a good response plus you did it a week ago I go to jobs where they wave my flyer at me that I posted 4 months ago.

It also depends what area you are in ie kitchen/bathrooms are picked up by the big DIY chains I specialise in electrical and intruder repairs / modification so the feedback I get is got your flyer thought this is handy put it on fridge/noticeboard and 3 months later my cooker blew up so just phoned you.

im thinking of doing the same . did you take a walk about and post them ?
any other ideas which you think is better ?

i walked different areas each evening, but easyer to do in the day and most homes are empty as there at work, im getting smaller ones next time so people can put them on notice boards or fridge,
went on google maps and picked money areas and next night picked normal areas,
i fold the flyer in half print on the inside so when it lands on the floor it almost lands facing up every time.
letterboxes on upvc doors are a pain as they have tight draft brushes and ruin the paper as it goes in.
some streets didnt have a good feel about them, some streets i would post into for sale or sold banners outside.
one house was looking at **** on his pc as i walked past his window!

1 job within days, not bad, and if you are lucky it may be a trickle of work over the next few weeks.

The longest after a drop for me was 18 months!

I got my lass to post mine about 12 months ago, she did nowt but moan about it, but at the end of the day it did pay off, got a few jobs including a couple of rewires. I printed the flyers myself, got a laser printer so works out pretty cheap.

I used print smarter and the guy there was great I made the 2 sides in MS Publisher and sent him the PDF copies and he did the rest but yep if I do a job in a communial block I put one on the notice board or pop a few through the doors I also learned there is no instant response but when you get a bit slack the phone rings and then your happy you did it a couple of months ago.
