Two things I had not been able to get when I started on my own- doing a bit on farms I could have done with a cable strainer for overhead supplies to buildings; also a footbender for conduit, which is much quicker to use than one on a stand.
A girl from a tool firm called to say they could not find them and was I pulling her leg asking for a bender and a wire puller.:)

Foot benders are the greatest tool ever invented,
Mine is by Greenlee and I brought it back from the US. Its called a 3/4inch EMT bender over there. As for the wire strainer, sorry can't help you there.

Bazza2541 how did u adapt from three quarter to 20mm. Was a former readily available?

I have a 20mm and 25mm version, but cant remember the name, i'll look later and post another reply, i thought that all wholesalers had them, maybe they've gone out of fashion as i've had mine quite a while.

Yes, thats one. The greenlee one I use came with a shaft fitted which had all the fractions printed on it.
Easy and quick to use, makes complicated bends a doddle.
Gets my vote for second bestest tool ever.

Yes, Mark Sparks, this is the foot bender! You may have seen a plumber use one for copper pipe; why should they have all mthe fun. You can be some distance away from your vice/bender on a big job and you can have your conduit bent by the time it would have taken to walk to the vice or stand bender.
They have been around for quite a while . I first used one in 1990. The gulf war had just started.
I am from a generation when houses used to be done in BE steel and we usually bent it with our knee. No wonder I've got bad knees now.
I've also got a bad shoulder from carrying bundles of conduit, ladders, toolboxes and all sorts on my shoulder.
I digress. The foot bender is the greatest thing since sliced bread, you can even ues it in a roofspace.
Simples(squeak).
