You’ve reminded me - Friday I cleaned up some diy downlights while adding a couple of new ones. They had such a neat twisting of the 1mm, each one an inch long. I reckon the fellow must’ve been Russian. Tape for containment, oops.
 
Poland uses the CEE7/5 ('French') socket which is polarised by the earth pin, rather than 7/4 Schuko which isn't. But historically a lot of 7/5 have been wired with arbitrary polarity. Although, you would expect Poland to be quite keen on Polarity.
