Friday 13[SUP]th[/SUP] struck one of the boys phone megot a problem drilled a hole in gas pipe (laughing his little head off) notsure with fear you can imagine what I called him.

Got to the job found that it was an old lead gas pipe plasteredinto the wall, in the common area of the building, there is no markings identify there is a pipe.

We are tubing andwiring for new lighting.

Gets better it’s a main service pipe with no isolationsix flats need evacuated.

Gas board quick as usual 1 ½ to attend site decided todig the road up outside the building to isolate the GAS.

All I could see was pound signs what the heck will thiscost??

Would like to know how the building owner has got away with any form isolation in the building for the gas
