Got a lighting circuit in a workshop - there is 235v on it when the fuse is in, but when the fuse is removed it still shows 35 volts on the live side of the switch when the switch is open.

Haven't started taking all the junction boxes apart yet, but has anyone got a starting point to look for?

Thanks :)

I can not see it being inductance if as you said earlier it is run in T & E as that is double insulated. You can run band I and II cables togther if the 230volt supply is in double insulated as well as the ELV supply. I know that the bare CPC could be classed as non double insulated but if it's a good earth connection and not under fault then it should not interfere.

Borrowed Neutral is what I would look for.

Unless the insulation is earthed it is still possible to induce voltage as this is done by electromagnetic fields which pvc will have almost no effect on. the only ways to stop inductance is to move the conductors apart, have an earthed shield( not necessarily SWA) or I seem to remember that having a twisted pair L/N works as well as the conductors aren't running straight beside each other, though I may be imagining the last bit!
