fused connection to rcd socket in suspended ceiling

Hi we have had a new over head projector fitted at work so its commercial not domestic situation.
The electrician came in and spured off an existing socket with 13a fused switch. ok i know. Then ran it in trunking up the wall to the suspended ceiling. Then its run over the top of the suspended ceiling to the correct tile by the projector and then terminated in to rcd socket which is not fixed down and no one knows is there which also keeps tripping.

What do you think off this. I work not as an electrician but i have done 2330 level 2/3 rthe 17th edition and about to start 2391 in september but do not have vast experience.

To me its not correct.

NON LATCHING RCD wrong type for this instal if RCD protection is required in the spec then it should have been an RCD FCU on the wall and not above the seling IMO voice your concerns to those in a higher place than yourself let them deal with is

Sorry i was using code 1 as a narritve to explain tne extent of this cock up!! code 1's only come from PIR's

Call this plank back, tell him to fix the outlet to the faric of the building and to do away with the RCD!

Or as Mogga says just raise your concerns with the powers that be!

Yea I'd pretty much agree with the above, the only thing is instead of screwing through the ceiling tile into ply, just cut a dry lining back box into the tile, like you would for a fan isolator in a commercial bog

the reason i wouldn't use a dry lining box is that you are fixing to a fabric that has less inherent strength than used bog roll. tighten up the socket and the fixings will pull through the tile like a javelin through sawdust.
