HI,
I am hoping someone on here can help. I am looking for a fused inline mains connector plug... capable of taking a 5 amp fuse / 240 volt feed.
I admit this is an odd request but have asked our electrician and he can't think of anything. If i explain what we are doing.... we fit temporary equipment to lamp posts that required a main power feed. Inside the lamp post itself is pretty water tight but you do occasionally get damp or the odd drip so could do with being weather resistant but not to the degree of full IP rating. From the mains feed we go into a IP rated box that houses a POE adapter, we then run a cat5 cable to the top, out of the lap post and into our equipment. The POE adapter takes a cloverleaf connection and is normally protected by a fused plug, we cut the plug off and go straight into mains. Normally we put in our own single gang fused spur supplied direct from the lamp post mains ( after the fuse so we have it is also covered by the switch ) which we wire in our mains lead which connects to the POE adapter. The problem with this is majority of lamp posts we connect to are full of other connections such as Xmas light feeds / Aux signs etc and we struggle to get the room to put in our own socket inside.
What i am looking for is some kind of inline fused terminal or plug that we would connect straight to the main feed of the lamp post and then with the cloverleaf socket the other end plugged into the POE adapter... that would save loads of room and still give me fused protection. I don't need an on or off switch.
Just to confirm... it is a qualified electrician fitting all of this and yes do we have all the required permission from Highways to access the lamp posts and required Elexon / UMS codings.
The nearest i have got ot is a fused terminal block and housing from RS but i'm looking for something a little tidier if possible... any suggestions would be welcomed.
Many Thanks... Rod
