I need to spur off a ring main to two locations a Boiler Control and Downflow heater.

Is there anything wrong with installing one 13A fused spur unit adjacent to a socket on the ring main and running both cables out the back of it to seperate fused spur units in the appropriate locations?

the only downside i can see is that you''ll probably have a 13A fuse for the heater and thus have no discrimination with the 1st FCU .

In the end I extended the ring (customer got a free socket on the other side of the wall!) and ran two seperate spurs as the downflow heater needed a 13A fuse so discrimination would have reared its ugly head.
