if i hear this stupid phrase once more :mad::mad:

wiring some av kit at the mo cat5 would be ok, got to use cat6
2 cables will do got to use 4
no need for coaxe as it will use the cat6 got to put 2 in anyway
cat5e for phone ,pull 2 just incase.
so 8 cables when 3 would be enough and cat6 aint the most user friendly through the joists..

and multiple points per room.;)

anyone who writes future proof in their reply is not funny:D:D

Its in case one or more cables get damaged, you might be cursing now but not as much as you would if the installer tested it and and told you the cable was U/S

I would have thought the best way of doing the unmentionable would be to install a network of sturdy conduit with backboxes all around the property, then they can be upgraded with whatever cable the world of tomorrow has to offer, eg fibre optic.

The future will be wireless when it can pass high bandwidth and cope with the overheads in tranmission. Wireless solutions always quote speeds way beyond there actual data capability

The trouble with technology is it's goalposts regularly move first it was copper then fibre then wireless then copper and so we continue to go around in circles

I think every toolbox needs a crystal ball :D:cool:
