Hi, i went to a site and condemned system due to very shoddy installation from an electrician wannabe solar installer.

this chap or principal contractor ordered inverters from somewhere like germany.

The inverters are 10000tl with no g83 standard firmware even using grid code for our company.

is there a firmware uprade for this inverter i can use?

oh hi, new to posting been around a while :)

I thought all the SMA10,000TL firmware should include G83/1 as an option AFAIK, just as all the inverters shipped to this country contain the country settings for every other country, so this sounds pretty odd to me.

must admit though that I've never had to use our Grid Guard code to change the country settings over, as we've always remembered to do this at the installatino point using the dials.

btw - apparently the firmware update takes ages via bluetooth, so the SD card version is probably a better bet.

eta - we've reinstalled the firmware on a few of these units with the optitrac feature, and it definitely has g83/1 settings in it.

great thats what ill do.

you need the standard SD card not one that is around now such as a standard 4GB HCSD (high capacity) . it needs to be a maximum of 1 gig capacity SD the pc boards cant read over 1gig. i found a 256MB card in an old camera i had after striking gold when the owner of the plant had a 500MB lying about his office. i could have kissed him, btw SMA take great pleasure in telling you or rather not telling you the SD cannot be over 1 gig or non HCSD.

something i learned when i upgrade a data logger took about 40 mins but i left the card in over night removed it the day after
