G83 doesnt look at phase angle or rocof?

In any event, they're different, and not interchangeable.

If your install is g59 size, the DNO will want to witness.

That depends on the DNO , some accept a certified G59 inverter / inverters with out a witness test .
From what i can remember about the installs we undertook before they relaxed the wittiness testing , the test engineers always argued that with the fella there to witness the test that the rocof test was a joke as by it's very nature it could never apply to a solar system .
Now this was back around July and quite frankly they sounded like they were talking in tongues when they got technical as far as i was concerned so i may have remembered wrong , but they definitely thought one of the tests they always had to do was just a joke ?

i should have said guys that im from ni. found out today that my boss is actually right. the allowance over here for g83 is anything up to 6.5kwp anything over is g59. seems with you guys its anything over 4kwp. funny the differences there is between over here and where you guys are. they also say over here that it is wise to put pv on 30ma rcd . there are so many arguments for this that does any one know who is actually right .

SSE charged us £500 dont know about the others

so just to clarify most installs above 16amp require a g59 application or 3phase as long as not more than 16 amps across each phase is ok . do suppliers charge you for g59 connection? do they have to do anything on their side to protect their grid workrs? cheers guys
