g83 form with sma inverters

Hi all,

Further to my previous thread about irradiance readings (thanks for the replies) I am qualified spark, recently did PV course at Ecoskies in Chesterfield. I have completed half a dozen installs on domestic properties upto 4kw. Inverters have all been sma sb1700. Installation and testing no probs, filling out G83 form that comes in box is. Do i have to complete the customer settings side? and if so, am i just filling in from inverter information given? i.e lower limit ac 139v upper limit 320v, lower limit freq 50hz upper 60hz. Other sections are max dissconection time, grid monitoring time, grid quality (DC injection max allowed). Any help appreciated

dude i think you getting mixed up, G83 1/1 is a form you download and submit to the regional DNO to notify them of the solar system at that property. i noticied this had been covered in another of your threads, but the G83 in the box is from the manufucature and its their decleration that the unit is compliant, its not something you fill in.

thanks dansk, thats what i needed to know. I have been sub contracting upto 12th dec for company. they emailed me through copies of paperwork to complete once installation was finished. Reality of situation was, i got emailed addresses to go, turn up without much information, box in the garage with inverter and switches ( 2 AC, 1 Meter NO dc isolator)had to ring company and say wasnt prepared to install without dc isolator even though sunny boys have ESS. Havn,t had lots of experience filling in forms for PV installations. I dont need to know about DNO thats the companys area, it was just this G83 form in box i wasnt clear on, but thanks to you now i know! cheers dansk for your help

no probs mate, one other thing, now dont sweat as im no SMA expert, but did you make sure they were all set to G83 5 and 8 on the dials?

SB1700, what dials? you are taking the **** arent you? there are no dials on sunnyboys. Wire up test get the green light check settings job done

Some do have dials on the bottom that allow you to set the country in case its been left programed to dutch or germany for egample.
