im running a 16mm armoured from existing house to new triple garage. the run of armoured is about 5 metres buried underground. do I need to provide an 80amp cut out for the swa as its going to come off Henley blocks ? sorry if this is a stupid question just lack a bit of confidence sometimes.

you need to fit a D/P switch fuse or D/P switch and MCB. 1. for isolation, and 2. for fault protection. 80A is about right for 16mm SWA. but you could reduce this depending on the load in the garage and whether or not you can obtain a satisfactory value of Zs.
