Hi
I want to run power to my shed. its about 1.5 meters from my house so i will be using swa. can i use 6mm t+e pvc from my consumer unit which is a duel 30ma rcd board, on a 32a mcb, then fit an adaptable box on the outside wall. run the swa into the shed then fit a 2 way board with a 63a isolator. use a 20a mcb for sockets and 6a for 2 lights?

trouble is if i am working at night and i trip the rcd i will have to find my way out of the shed in the dark to reset the rcd. if i do it the other way round and fit a seperate 2 way cu next to my main one with a double pole isolator and put the rcd protection in the shed. do I need to run it all the way in swa.

my consumer unit is high level at the oposite end of my kitchen to where i was going to take the cable through the wall so I was thinking of running the cable under my units just taking the kickboards off.:rolleyes::confused:

Yep, that’s what I do. That spare RCD has always come in handy down the line.
