It's not a radial...it's a spur,and you can spur off a ring in 2.5mm.

but is a DB classed as a spur ? i can understand a socket or a SFCU would be okay as its not possible to overload the cable with one of these

but with a DB you could quite easily pull more than the rated current of the cable if it was fed by a 2.5mm
 
spurring off a 2.5mm rfc in 4mm is close to extending the rfc, like a reverse lollipop circuit. as long as the OCPDs in the shed are selected to protect the cable, can'r really see a problem with how it's been done.
 
Only issues would be voltage drop, EFLI and overloading one point of the ring. First and last shouldn't be an issue as he has used 4mm and the load is pretty small. I'd be interested to know how the Zs stack up though.

Edit: Mind you,he has the CPC and armour of the SWA in play, so would probably be OK. :)

I'll have to remember that one, ....A reversed lollipop circuit!! I like it!! lol!!
