Perhaps what the other members haven't made quite clear. Is that this work is notifiable to your local building control under Part P of the building regs.
Therefore if your going to do the work you have to
1) notify building control.
2) pay for the notification of works
3) do the works
4) inform building control of its completion
5) pay to have it tested and certified so that building control can sign it off.

Any work involving cables on the outside of a dwelling will be notifiable.

Contractors such as myself and others on this forum pay (several hundred pounds a year) to be able to cut out all that red tape, so that we can self-certify our work and get our scheme providers to do the paperwork with building control.

So you can appreciate some friction to a post like this.

Hartlepool. best advice I can give is to consult the spark who you were going to get to notify the work, tell him/her what the proposed load is size the appropriate cable on advice for him/her. Then ask what work you can do on their behalf to keep the cost down.
You're opening a can of worms here mate and it could go very wrong very quickly. You could use it as a learning experience by acting as the labourer/mate while the work is going on. Meanwhile enroll yourself in a BS7671 course to get yourself back up to date

Not really GT1.Thought it was quite a simple question -looking for advice.made it clear to the simplest of members about circumstances,Well aware of 17th edition and part P.I will pass the job onto anyone I can so the girl gets the job done.

Asked for a favour-Wire a graden shed. Can anyone give me some advise....
There is an external junction box on the house with armoured cable 10-12 mm 2 core I think? This is going into the shed at a height of 12 feet ?Once in I will attach and RCD 30mA then off to a junction box to spur off to skt and light.
Question?Does this look okay???Is there anything I am missing for the job?Do I need any special connectors for armoured cable into RCD.
Just getting back on the tools after a while and would appreciate any advice please keep this simple...

Thanks in advance

With all due respect to you mate, my best advice would be to leave it to someone COMPETENT & Registered.
