The scenario,

Property has no bonding to gas meter. There is a 4mm T+E radial from the DB to an outside socket which is located 300mm from the gas meter (external meter). The 4mm T+E is housed in 20mm plastic conduit running along the external wall.

To prevent things looking a complete mess, any issues with running the 10mm bond inside the conduit (along with the 4mm T+E) other than it being a bit cosy ?

Thanks

You could argue not that I would, it is not suitably supported to prevent premature collapse in the event of a fire even though it is external :)

4mm to a socket? Long run or the end of a radial circuit?
You would have had more room if it had just been 2.5.

Do it RAF and tie wrap it to the outside of the pipe. ;)

feed inside the conduit. bit of lube ( ooh matron ). or install bonding inside house close to point of entry. sodd the gas bods with their "bond to outside meter" crap.

No need to go to the expense of tie wraps.. just undo the saddles, shove the cable in and put saddle back. ;)

Anything you can do I can do rougher :D
and paint it black to camoflage it. :

there's only 1 reason that gas bods want to bond in the meter cabinet. it's that theyonlyneed 1 brain cell to find it, whereas looking inside, less easily seen, requires a minimum of 4 to make a quorum.

4mm T&E and 10mm earth wire in 20mm conduit. I would of thought a bit tight.
Would that comply re space factor?
yes because the bonding cable is not a current carrying cable, so you can ignore it as to grouping. however, if really tight fit, it could inhibit cable cooling . in this cas a 4mm cable feeding a single socket is limited as to amperage, so i would not consider it as a problem.

Wasn’t there a band in the 80’s called Tight Fit ?
