what sort of sparky are you who is not able to figure out how the time clock works ? as all time clocks work in the same way having change over contacts from normally open to normal closed and the only reason for the link is if you are switching another supply that is not the time clock supply,and let face it you don't need to brain of England to figure out how it works do you ? as Tazz has indicated for you above, next time get a sparky in to do it for you m8 ok ?

to be fair to the OP, i think he'd just got them in temp. to get it working, then would tidy them after.

The majority of the timers I have wired have been L-N in N-L out.
