Just started quoting for my company.

How do people word/get round saying that any extra work needed due to departures from the regs?
As i know a few people who have lost out big time with having to do extra work and not get payed.

Many Thanks

What do you mean by this exactly ?

Think he's talking about a cu upgrade and when there is a fault on the circuit as it's never been on a rcd before lads

I include this on all my CU change quotes:

"NB: If problems are detected during the fuseboard change additional work may be required. Such issues and associated costs will be discussed with you, prior to being implemented"

I've also included this on other jobs too........

I state "this price is based on the provision that the existing electrical systems will not impair the integrity of the new works to bs 7671,if during said works, this is found to be the case, then the client will be informed and additional work will be carried out on written authorisation "
basically your covering your "backside"

I have similar in my terms & conditions. But in any case, I'm not doing extra work for nothing. You don't take your car in for a service, and expect the workshop to replace the tyres for free, cos they got no tread left!
