Im going to join a part P scheme and would like some help with a couple questions.

I take it you would put lim on fixed appliances, lights FCU etc and make a note somewhere on form? (Unless specifically asked by customer to do so)
I know bonds are to be checked but before getting involved with any circuit, would a Zs and insulation resistance test also be sufficient?

Is there any regs regarding surface run cable in sheds/log cabins?
Thanks.

1) Why didn't you report this so called spark if he was registered and absolutley clueless? If i saw someone who didn't know how to test - testing unsupervised, id be definitley questioning them.

2) You are trying to earn a living? Fair enough, as long as you aren't working for yourself or gubbying on the side, because you have insufficient knowledge to do either.

3) I agree we all have to start somewhere, and if you read my post properly instead of giving it the big'ns then you'd realise i was just giving you some advice, buying books and reading is far more benefitial than getting told answers. Fair play for asking a few, but i mean come on - we're not here to wipe your arse for you, we're hear to advise to a level we feel sufficient.

1)I was quite new at the time and he was paying my wages

2)As i said i'm going to join Niceic. My knowledge, yes may not be 100% i'm not hiding that fact that you like to keep pointing out!. Regardless what you might think i guarente my work is still better than most sparks out there whom are gubbying, what does gubbying even mean? .Not working for myself? and why not? last time i checked minor works was ok.

3)Big'ns?? im on this web site making my self look silly trying very, very, very hard to learn having paid out about 15k to do city & guild lev2 17th edition 2391 t&i and on tools and a megger to make my life better and im here having to explain myself to you! who are you to keep questioning me and my abilities? CID? cheif of police ? MI5?
There is no hidden agenda here! what is it, do you want paying?

frightening thing though Mark...es even with his obvious deficiencies...he probably would be `accepted`..

How dare you. I believe from that statement, you imply that, tom from the office, richard from the factory or harry from the infantry divission can spend their redundancy payment on a few book's and an mft, then endure the torturous ordeal of multiple answer question's for two horrific hour's, and still not be accepted (by your standard's) into the great english and welsh institution that is part p.
I am not being sarcastic, but do you really think they would just let anyone in?

Right can't be arsed to answer anymore, can't even be arsed to quote...

with your last comment....you quite clearly don't have 2391 otherwise you wouldn't be asking these questions. Also, level 2 and 17th doesn't make you an electrician.

Don't you need NVQl3 now for NIC membership or was that idea thrown on the head?

Im out.
