Is there any other way I can get my hands on a gold card? All I have left to do is the portfolio of pictures and its become a right pain to do since I am self-employed. I've done my college, City & Guilds 2330 Level 2 & Level 3, and then I worked with my Dad for a few years, then I left my Dad to work on site, passed my ECS test and got an Electrical Labourer's card and since then I self funded my AM2, passed it and self funded my 18th Edition exam and passed it. The only thing that is stopping me from getting a gold card is the pictures. I paid to do my NVQ Level 3 with XS Training, they told me it would take me 3 months but I just haven't been able to gather certain pictures because I haven't had the work in it! 18 months has passed, I've spent around ÂŁ1500 and I still haven't done it. Since I've paid it all off, I don't think my assessor is that bothered anymore either. I've proved myself in exam conditions, am I going to be held back from getting my gold card because of a bunch of photo's that most people stage anyway? Is there any way around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No you need your NVQ and to complete that you need to do your portfolio. Just get stuck into it, it’s boring but isn’t difficult to complete. I done my NVQ with quickstep and completed it in 10 weeks start to finish.
