Discuss Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :) in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Delroy is far from dangerous just seems to be stuck in his ways, working as he probably learnt on his apprenticeship all those years ago. He does however seem to be a tad senile when talking and explaining things.

I just think it can be very easy to find fault and criticise , especially when someone has the b###s to release 'warts and all' video of their work. There are a lot worse that Delroy out there believe me !
I say leave the bloke alone, it's meant to be the season of goodwill after all !

On the latest video and I'm not up on UK rules

From memory:

So he says to the customer "what do you want me to do" instead of evaluating the situation and telling the customer what he should do

Next thing then I dunno how it finished , did he replace the exposed wiring in a section of a ring

So that was all good but was he rewiring a section of a ring final circuit where the condition of the joints in the remainder of the ring was unknown.

Can't say I finished the whole thing but my first thought was the new work should be separate if above scenario true.

Not seen the video in question, but it's unlikely that he'd have been able to visually inspect the entire circuit. If he addressed those issues that became apparent, whether through testing or visual inspection, the entire circuit will be tested prior to being re-energised. It's worth bearing in mind the different requirements, with regard to testing, between GB & IE.

me down hospital yesterday for a ct scan., following a chest x-ray showing a shadow on my lungs.
" we found the problem, it's been sorted"
"how sorted you, not cut me open yet?"
"it's OK, dab of windowlene on the scanner glass smear fixed it".

I never see CJR doing anything dangerous. I actually asked on here once for people to point me to his 'dangerous' or 'crap' work and nobody could (aside from that SWA he did..)

From what i've seen he does good work.

Delroy on the other hand, i think he's fairly poor. Anyone who glues trunking onto new expensive tiles and then no-nails' on a shaver socket next to a sink instead of simply cutting out a full tile and then putting it back and using plugs to fix the box........just no.
Love Delroy's 1 size fits all screwdriver
