whether he’s good at the banter or not, the issue with him and other celebrity sparks, is that the general public get an unrealistic view of our industry.
Or it gives DIY Dave too much wrong information and he thinks he can give it a go….

Admittedly, I haven’t watched any of them. But the general consensus seems to be he’s not doing things right…

Well take a close look and see what you think

Youtube is filled with electrical advice from DIYers - some not bad ,some not so good and some downright dangerous.

Admittedly I haven't watched many of Delroy's videos, but those that I have seen showed bits and pieces of work - much less useful to DIYers than most of most of what Youtube offers.

PVC twin&earth old colours , wonder why they wanted a rewire, dont make sense.
All cables coming from above easy job to raise up to new heights etc. Doubt all them cables are shot for one minute, waste of time IMO.
Section board is a pain hate pulling it up.

I use these with chipboard/plywood floors... at £2.50 per hole.. not cheap, but they save so much time/knees/swearing etc etc.

Have seen one of the YT sparkies using these looks ok, but I would be hesitant using this without asking the client first, core drilling and putting in inspection/access holes everywhere.

Agree

You could probably get away with a partial rewire in this instance and just the extra points in where required.

I hate these jobs with ring nails and chip floors, absolute nightmare.

The last house re-wire I did I posted a photo on here where I used a multi tool to cut some hatched in the chip floor then had to batten around the joists and put new ply traps back in. Thankfully that particular job I had allowed the extra time and budget to purchase sheets of ply board to cut up and 2 x 2 batten

But often i come across mutilated chip floors all hacked with a recip saw and the chip shoved back in all rough and wonking
