the advert

My Facilities Management cleintis looking to recruit a Regional Electrician to cover supermarkets throughout Eastern/Western Scotland. These positions will be home based and will cover approximately 15 – 18 stores.

The ideal person will be a Time served Engineer with appropriate NVQ/C&G2391 17[SUP]th[/SUP] Edition or equivalent, having specific knowledge of 3 phase electrics and its applications to maintain and repair a full range of electrical and mechanical equipment in retail areas.

This position will also involve general maintenance of any other electrical equipment on site ie external and car park lighting and will therefore require you to work at heights

You will be responsible for the maintenance & repair of the general electrical installations in stores, ensuring that work is carried out in an efficient & cost-effective manner, whilst complying with laid-down H&S policy.

As well as responding to service calls from the Helpdesk to carry out reported repairs you will have weekly/monthly Pre-Planned Maintenance checks, both legal and statutory to complete to the required deadline.

Prioritising maintenance & repair work to achieve agreed timescales is a key part of the role.

You will report to the Supermarket Facilities Manager and work very closely with the Regional Maintenance Technician within the area to ensure that all minor works are completed to the required standards.

I dont have CG2391 i do inspection and testing on my SJIB(although don't really know testing),I served 1/2 my apprenticeship working maintenance contracts would not call myself an engineer only served my apprenticeship(3years ago)

This is for ASDA City Facilities if anyone works for them some feedback could be good, will the three phase just about ballanceing the loads or you think I will arse about with bakery/butcher equipment or will this be some other trade( ps i think i may last confidence)

Any interview experience can only be a good thing.
If you don't get it, ask for feedback on all aspects of your interview. Not just your electrical knowledge, but your interview techniques as well.
Don't know if it's just 'forum speak', but brush up on your spelling & grammer as well.

Go for it.

Good luck

Did or Didnt you go as OP was 5 days ago Im assuming its past
If not past Id go for it as you will get trained on specifics CFM have a crackin office and training facilities they also have other contracts and seperate install team
I did same job for a firm its fun specialy if your not an IST( in store teck) and are more mobile not knowing what your doing ne day to next can be good and you get to see loads of the country Also more importantly interviews are few and far between so given opertunity take it even iif you arent one of those picked you may be able to get some fedback from them
