Finally been trying for a number of years now, finally landed one.

wish i had got one when i was 17 as i'd be finished now but it doesn't matter to much.

going to be working for

R B Evans Electrical & Building Services Ltd > Home

hopefully i will enjoy it and can do well at college.

I take it 'beast' is a typo, we weren't beasted but Birmingham wanted it more than we seemed to.

Well Done on the Apprenticeship. Ask plenty of questions, if you dont know, ASK. I am in my final few months of an apprenticeship so i am just trying to cram some last minute learning before i come out of my time.

As for the pranks, there are plenty out there. I got caught out by being asked to get a bubble for a spirit level. I know of an apprentice who was asked to get a 10 inch population tool, AKA penis, from the charge hand and he took it bad and walked off site. Needless to say he never completed his apprenticeship. Just smile and take it in your stride.

Skirting ladders another, if you hear the words "The 3 man lift" run a mile, Never ever get involved with putty guns, though as double glazing is now a mode that might be out.

There is the apprentice olympics of course.

Shot the brass bush was a good one
The running nipple marathon was another
The rawlplug tool banging was one that as most likely died out
The Stores lift and jerk of how many coils of 4mm cable can you bring at one time just using a length of cable through the middle of them
The sweeping the workshop relay with the other apprentices
Syncronised step dancing on metal ladders to a 500V Meggar, always a fun event for the spectators
Striping the MICC cable sprint with a screwdriver was great fun

yeah should have been beat, but i had, had a few drinks yesterday.

looking forward to starting this now, i'm doing inspection and testing in a railway station 1st apparently, but need to get a contract and work clothes all sorted out first, then start about april.

i should have a drugs and alcohol test next week, then some railway safety training, and then maybe for the start of April start work

can't wait now, been ages waiting for this so think im going to trat myself to a better car and pay for a few thing around the house, my dad wants a new driveway so ill go halves on it with him.
