I know what you mean......it's dead tricky just to change a light fitting.....not simple, nothing to screw to is the norm

I've had (honestly £100,000 ) chandaliers to hang, with no fixing points. err a couple of screwits will hang a 200 kilo chandelier ...nope, call me back when you have support. I've been all over the place, new york, dubai, london....not kidding architects have the iq of a kit-kat...most times, some are good....... in the minority though...

Know how you feel. Went to price up a cu change last week, big posh drum out in the sticks. TT, 5 beds, loads of lights and a garage. Asked if I could turn off the leccy to do some tests. Said that the other sparks had not done any tests!! Asked how many quotes he had got, said 2 and I was the third, cheapest he had was £125 Needless to say, I walked

Half these people earn about £6 an hour and thats probably why they can't believe it when we say £20 - £30 or whatever. They just don't understand about overheads and apprenticeships, etc.

i used to get this alot with computer repairs and the odd tv repair @25.oo ph + parts thay think your ripping them off .. oh well thay soon come back after thay been to someone who don't know a fet to a transistor

Iv recently started subbying for a large firm with a view to doing same for others and possibly goign alone some time (mainly commercial) On the way home after a shut down other night I stopped in at a chippy turns out I knew the owner He asked if I could have a look at a light (21v50w downlighter) I whipped oot ma test lamps n diagnosed a faulty tranny He asked if I could get one with out a tranny Up shot £5 for a gu10 n lamp I fitted it in 10mins He then asked how much I said £20 ( looking for more work hence low price) he gave me £25 and enough chippy stuff to feed me the wife the wean n give her mum n dad some as well Just had a call from shop next to his to go look at rewiring it as they are getting new shelfs ect and the guy who came to look said "Your wirings crud better get your spark to sort it during the refit ) Happy Days
