have a look at the wording of the G59 permissions, the ones from Northern Power Grid at least actually always give permissions based on the export level from the site.
Their engineers I've spoken to basically say that export limiting is fine, but it's at our liability if the export limiting fails and destroys their kit / customers kit etc.
I'm just commissioning a 50kWp system limited to 28kW export using the ABB PMU units and lovato meters. Pleasantly surprised at how many options there are with the lovato meter, I might well set a secondary back up to also reduce output when voltage approaches the limit as well, given that I saw 252V on site this evening without solar, so on a weekend I suspect it's going to end up well over 253V if at full power with minimal loads on site.
Key issue is making sure that nobody interferes with the kit afterwards, so I think the CT clamps are getting metal ties around them tomorrow, and labelling up to ensure nobody removes them, disconnects power etc.
