Because this is in the secure Trainee Section, I can post this up.

A Trainee member (aka Guest 505) was advised by his tutor to leave this forum and asked for all of his personal details deleted. As requested his forum account has been removed although every effort was made by the staff to reassure him that all information that the forum holds is extremely secure. This was his choice although via ill advice in my honest opinion.

Every single one of the Trainees in this TS have had to submit their own application form. This procedure protects all of the Trainees from rouge TS members that may want to contact you to sell goods and services. Also stops any spammers, advertisers and anyone that may want to take advantage of you on any level. Even the Mentors are hand picked by staff after knowing them on the forum for a long time.

There are over 52,000 members on this forum and only the staff have the rights to look at each members personal information. Not a single member within the 52,000 has received a single spam message due to giving this forum their personal details. This is a "Golden Forum Rule" from Dan the owner of the forum and something that the staff uphold fully. If any of the staff found out that members details were passed onto a 3rd party, hand on heart I can say we would all leave.

I hope that ALL of the Trainees and Mentors believe the words I said above, because they are true. If any TS member has any concerns about this issue, please post it up or ask any member of staff via pm if you would like to keep it private.

This is the most friendly and the most protected section of the forum. The staff and Mentors will always keep it safe. That is our job.

There's a thread he posted in the general area, unless there's more to it then that (since this thread is the first I heard of the user)
Just seems like someone was a bit misinformed around privacy, then posted about it in the public area which is baffling itself.

His name has been changed due to his account being deleted.

Yes I also believe he has been misinformed. Lets face it, has any Trainee had any unsolicited e-mails, phone calls or junk mail due to the information you have provided to gain access to the TS? The answer is 100% NO, and it will always stay that way.

The questioning of the integrity of the TS has upset me a little bit. If any Trainee has anything to ask that you do not want to post up, send a PM to any member of staff or Mentor. We are here to help, that is why we are here.

Hey i kept getting strange emails from Paul but thats cuz he was trying to give advice and my head is walloped.... Lol - small humour.

Facebook have most peoples details and they're not exactly grand on the whole privacy thing, the apps alone do dodgy things on your phone lol.

I'm just amused that 505 was apparently concerned about privacy, so to voice that concern he posted in the public area, rather than just PM someone

I remember seeing a trainee asking for his account and all trace of him to be deleted a few weeks back, sounded like a right drama queen!

I contacted his lecturer for a comment...

Right Guys I am going to close this now, the questions have been asked and Paul has given a detailed reply.
I don't think it is fair to the Trainee in question to have his motives questioned we should just respect his decision however misguided it was.
