Hager Duplex Cu and KRN190 Neutral connector

I have a Hager Duplex (stacked 2-row) CU to install.

The main switch is on the bottom row.
There are cables from the switch feeding the top row.
Both cables are fed via a KRN190 "100A neutral connector".
The neutral enters the top, and from the bottom is fed to the N busbar.

Now I can see this is perhaps a good way to feed the Live.
But why not just take the N cable to the N busbar, and save one slot?
Anyone with experience of these boards who can comment?

I normally fit wylex duplex but I heard they were changing the mcb's. It's put me off buying wylex for a while due to onwards compatibility. Unless the new mcb's will fit the boards that we have at present?

That's what my wholesalers said.

There is a revised board to accept the new compact rcbos. The only difference I can see is that is has a comb busbar which sits further back than the busbar on the earlier version of the board.
The current mcbs fit it though.
Might this be what the wholesaler was referring to?

I fitted one of these yesterday and found it good quality. Only complaint is the square knock outs I wasn't prepared for so be advised.
I expected to use a tails gland but have just grommet stripped the opening for know. They do a square grommet designed for tails.
Like 'Apple' - have to buy their Sxxx

In answer to your question, I think the reason for that is incase you wanted to install and RCD in place of the 'KRN 190' the cables are already there.

Thanks S P. This install will be RCBOs only, but having the cables ready for an RCD instead makes sense.

I typically use a large tails gland, needing either 32 or 40mm dia. round hole. There was a free sample of a Hager plastic tails grommet for their square aperture, but to be honest is it very flimsy, and I'm not impressed. So I might end up drilling a new round hole.

Again, I remember them changing the commercial three-phase distribution boards about four years ago but keeping the same part number old would not fit in new the only way you could tell was by the din-rail clip.
