just local, and i'm a fan of Bahco and Knipex, but have used ebay etc as well, more important to use the correct tool for the job, ie, an M8 bolt requires a 13mm spanner, not a frekkin' shifter/adjustable spanner! thats just lazy and will round off the flats of the bolt head. did spend about 40 or 50 quid on an 18" pipe wrench by Ridget (The Ridge Tool Company in America), which was probably half what i would have paid to buy locally, these babies are used on oilfields around the world and when i couldn't break an 1 1/2" union steam pipework, slid a 2meter box section over the handle of the pipe wrench and hey presto! union broke, pipe wrench intact.
right, what was the question again? oh yeah, tools,
shop around fella, have you anything in mind? snips?, crimps?

(tool junkie)

i tend to get my screwdrivers from wickes or B&Q. Bacho adjustable spanners for glanding, bacho 319 hacksaw, eclipse junior hacksaw, spring loaded centrepunch, wera big 12mm flathead for gutterbolts, get them from screwfix, squarefrom b&q also. crimpers i get them from farnells or RS, this is for auto sizing botlaces, red/yellow/blue, bootlaces upto 35mm and uninsulated upto 16mm. strippers also got from my old firm who got them from RS. spanners and socket set/ratchet, i get from halfords, buy the 150 piece set you can get it for 100 big ones, but its well worth it, especially the lifetime guarantee!!

I've bought tools from B&Q, Screwfix, Robert Dyas, Edmundsons, CEF, In-Excess (local clearance shop), Wilkinsons, ebay, Tool Stop, and a few other dark corners of the internet.

I don't think I'd ever buy tools from a car boot sale.

just buy a screwdriver and pliers and drill. thats all youll ever need. but get a good terminal like ck as it does up philips aswell. dont worry about aything else its all just expensive luxory items lol.
