Ugg my son has just dragged me from my slumber, by God do I feel rough. Too much food yesterday followed by way too much ale. Then seem to vaguely recall finishing off all the wife's pear cider (which I don't even like). Why, oh why?

Oh why. :iamwithstupid:

When I felt particularly rough I'd just lie on the sofa watching old WW2 documentaries and eating ice lollies. Then it was back to bed for another kip.
roast dinner about 6pm for me, then I was just about ok for Monday morning.

Why, oh why?

We do it owt lad to make ourselves more intelligent and efficient. You see a herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members. In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills off brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, constantly making the brain a faster and more efficient animal. The down-side to this, due to some alcohol fuelled posting and the onset of dementia, I have been forced to cast my eye over some posts from a couple of days ago and I'm LMAO at
Obi Wan Kenobi was an electrician.
I'm such a knob!

Obi Wan Kenobi was an electrician.

well, of course he was. you don't think a plumber could have made that light sabre, do you?

It’s difficult to talk about plumbers without using the word half-wit but in a Jedi duel I will let them have the waste pipe and I will use my taser mobile phone.
