Hi all, first post. Sorry to say I don't have much of a clue but I'd be grateful for some help.
My wife and I have just got our first house, it's a 1930s 3 bed semi. We've had a new board and pretty much complete rewire (lots of badly needed new chased outlets etc).
The electrician who did the installation mentioned that the header fuse was 60A, and that if I ever wanted to extend I should look at increasing the ampage, however I should check to see with the supplier if the cable coming to the building was safe to work with a higher ampage (i.e. 100A).
I'm not entirely sure who I should be contacting, as the supplier doesn't seem to have much of a clue and refers me back to my electrician. Also, I'm not sure where the header fuse is and whether I should be changing it myself.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
John.
