Heat shrink - what do you use to supply the heat? | on ElectriciansForums

Discuss Heat shrink - what do you use to supply the heat? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

We use heat shrink all the time, i love the stuff!! A good example would be replacing SWA shrouds with adhesive lined heat shrink for all exposed external glanding!!

Depends on what sort of heat shrink operation your talking about, For general purpose heat shrink tubing, a decent heat gun with a flat nozzle is my preference, but a small blow torch along the lines of what Sintra uses is just as suitable. If were talking about heavy duty heat shrink, such as you would find in a heat shrink cable joint, then a good full size blow torch is really the only way to go....
