HEAT TRACE - What should be used as means of disconnect?

Currently overseas and inside a small pumphouse heat trace is required.
Wondering if I need double pole RCD protection for it?

BS7671 says that manufacturer's instructions be taken into account, not blindly followed.

In relation to heating cables BS7671 also states 'complies in all respects with manufacturers instructions'.
