Hi guys,

What is correct method for testing heating s plan circuit including main fcu, wiring center, 7 days programmer for CH and HW, CH valve, HW valve, cylinder stat and boiler?

I do understand how this circuit is operating, but how to do:

- Insulation test? I need test all circuit so is that mean I have to do bridges at programmer? Also do I have to disconnect blue and brown conductors from zone valves and do bridges? Same with cylinder stat?

-Zs value? I know that I need use R1+R2 method, but again, do I have to do bridges at programmer and valves? Measure at each point of circuit and record highest valve for Zs calculation?

Thanks for help

Tin hat on, as is flak jacket, Cobham armour in place, but you are testing the fixed wiring, are you not? not the kit connected to it, if it's susceptible to damage by sticking 500V up it's jacksie, bridge it out or use a lower IR voltage, or test IR to earth only.

as pete so rightly says, you are testing the fixed wiring. that's up to the FCU supplying the leccy to the heating. the witchcraft that makes the boiler bubble is irrelevant till if goes ---- up.

When doing the AM2 your initial verification inspection and testing is verifying the accuracy and safety of the fixed wiring up to the SFCU for the heating controls.
The wiring thereafter is the control wiring for the heating system.

If you are then later in the AM2 doing fault finding on the heating system then you are just using continuity testing to ensure the correct parts function at the correct times and the wiring is to the correct terminals.
